A man must move a fox, a carrot and a goat across a river.
He can only carry 1 item at a time.
The problem:
(1) the fox can't be left alone with the Goat - or he will eat him.
(2) the Goat can't be left alone with the Carrot,- or he'll eat it.
So the man must be around to stop them from eating their favoite dish.
