                                                                                                                                                Special Edition Advent
Advent is the time….to prepare for the coming of the messiah.
Advent is a time to walk through the desert as John the Baptist once did…and prepare ourselves and others for the coming of the Messiah.
Help to do this comes in the website. From the information stored about what is Advent?
The history of Advent, the meaning of the Advent wreath, and the advent calendar.
But the truth is that the message of Advent comes from the JESSE tree and it’s true meaning. So teach the young and the old to make the Jesse Tree and learn from the creation of the world to the time of the Messiah’s birth the stories that make the COMING OF THE MESSIAH so necessary for each of us.
Read about the writings of Isaiah in the story of the lion and lamb.
As Jesse was the father to King David. Since the Messiah was to come from the line of Kings of Israel. At the end of the Old Testament, lets face it the royal line of Israel was a mess. So how does one so special as the Messiah come from such a mess. Advent is the time of redemption so that the Messiah is not born of that, the Messiah was to be born out of that. In so that no matter how tangled our lives may be, redemption can still come out of it.
Teach that Advent is a good time for redemption.
As Advent is also the time of OUR LADY commitment to GOD, it is also a good time to reflect on the meaning of the Immaculate Conception a Holy Day celebrated during the Advent Season. As well as the Feast day of Our Lady of Guadaloupe, a time to reflect on the words of Juan Diego, “I beg you, entrust your mission to one the important persons who is well known, respected, and esteemed…You know I am nobody, a nothing…You have sent me to walk in places where I do not belong.” So that we understand that God’s calls each of us.
“The wolf shall be a guest of the lamb, and the leopard with the kid; the calf and the young lion shall browse together, with a little child to guide them.”

Advent – the meaning
During Advent we celebrate many saint days. St. Nicholas (Dec 6th), St Odilla (Dec 13th),St Stephan (Dec 26th) and Good King Wenceslaus. The many mysteries of the items we use during the Christmas season come to life. Like the reason the song “Do you hear what I hear” was written, the advent calendar, what are angels, the fruit cakes
origin, a Radish night in Mexico. The stories of people who made a difference, like Bartolome Esteban Murillo who painted the portrait of the Immaculate Conception, and Michelangelo and the painting of the Sistine chapel.   Also the stories of sufferings and death in the name of FAITH. Like the El Salvador martyrs. A history lesson of the
coming of the messiah, The Prophet Isaiah and what is a prophet. What is Hannah’s prayer and Mary’s Magnificat? The meaning behind a spiritual direction in the secrets of the heart and the Messianic prophecy…. What is Anawin ? O Antiphons?  Chrismons?  Typology ? So you see there is much to learn about Advent and its meaning.
