FATIMA
In the year 1917 Our Lady appeared before three shepherd children, they Lucia, Jacinta, and their brother Francisco.
THe children were very shocked and a little scared when they heard a clap of thunder and saw an angel appear to them.
The 3 children fell to the ground in adoration. The Angel told them that the Blessed Virgin Mary would visit them soon and they must be good.
The Blessed Virgin Mary did appear to the 3 children and gave them 3 important messages, but the most important message that Our Lady gave to the children was to love God, to be good and to offer penance for the souls of great sinners.
The Blessed Mother told the children that if people did not live good lives this would make God angry and the way to soften God's anger was to do acts of penance for the sins of the world.

My God, I believe, I adore, and I love You. I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore and do not hope and do not love thee.

FATIMA PRAYER SAID AFTER THE DECADES OF THE ROSARY
O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, especially those in most need of thy mercy.

Lucia saw a cloud in the shape of a human being moving across the sky and hovering over a pine tree Another time at the same place, the children were caught in a hail storm and hid in a cave, ate lunch, and quickly prayed the Rosary. They waited outside, strong winds picked up, Lucia looked up and saw a cloud just like the one she saw before. The cloud was an angel of peace and asked the children to pray with him
                      Now known as the Fatima Prayer
and said at the end of the rosary decade. The children repeated the prayer 3 times. He made additional appearances his last was October of 1916 and this time he brought a chalice, and suspended it with a host, and asked the children to drink.
During the time, World War I was in full force and the Popeasked all to pray *days after the Pope asked peaple to pray, the children saw a great light in the sky. In the center of the light stood a Lady dressed in pure white.Her hands were folded and in her right hand a Rosary. Our Lady asked the children to come to the same spot for 6 months on the 13th day at the same hour. One the seventh time she would tell them who she was.
She then told them she was the "Queen of the Holy Rosary"

THE FIRST 5 SATURDAYS
The 1st 5 Saturdays are intended to honor and to make reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for all blasphemers and ingratitude of men:
This devotion and the wonderful promises connected with it were revealed by the Blessed Virgin at Fatima, a small village in Portgual, Our Lady appeared to 3 children there in 1917 and one of the little girls Lucy, tells us that Our Lady said;
I promise to help at the hour of death, with the graces needed for salvation whoever on the 1st Saturday of 5 consecutive months shall:
1. Confess and Receive Communion
2. Recite 5 decades of the Rosary
3. Keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the 15 mysteries of the rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me.
Societies and devotions
The Marian apparition of Our Lady of Fátima on a remote mountain top to three young Portuguese children in 1917 also seemed fanciful and the local administrator initially jailed the children and threatened that he would boil them one by one in a pot of oil. However, over the years the impact of Fátima has been undeniable.

With over 25 million registered Catholic members, the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fátima (which was approved by Pope Pius XII in 1947) is the largest Marian Society in the world. And the message of Fátima has inspired the spread of other devotions. An example is Our Lady's Rosary Makers formed by Brother Sylvan Mattingly in 1949 with $25 to distribute free rosaries, based on his devotion to Fátima. Our Lady's Rosary Makers has since distributed hundreds of millions of free rosaries to Catholic missions worldwide.
