With Dana and Father Kevin Scallon – Tape In the Rosary Mary takes us on a contemplative journey through the mysteries of Jesus Her Son. The rosary is a prayer which we say with our hearts, our lips, and our fingers. It is a contemplative prayer which touches our deepest spirit. In this rosary we ask Jesus to heal us as we join our prayers with those of His Mother. Mary Mother Mary Ever Virgin Blessed One, Pray for me as You lead me to Your Son. Mary Mother Mary, Ever Virgin, Blessed One Pray for me, as He heals me with His Love. |

| JOYFUL CONTINUED |
| First Joyful Mystery – The Annunciation
Virtue: Humility We pray for the healing of Rejection in our lives. Mary how willingly You received Jesus. What a joyful welcome You gave him. How You loved Him as He grew within You. Mother Mary look on the lonely child on all who come to birth unwanted and unloved and who live each day as painful memory Hold to Your heart and let the child in all of us live and comfort our afflicted spirit . |
| Second Joyful Mystery- The Visitation
Virtue Charity Let us pray for the unborn and for all the victims of abortion. Lord even from Your Mother’s womb you sanctified John the Baptist and caused him to leap for Joy. Jesus, visit all unborn children and their mothers. Look with tenderness upon and keep them safe. Look with compassion on those who leap in pain because their little life is threatened. Visit with forgiveness and love all those who weep like Rachel for their children because they are no more and bring consolation to their broken hearts. |

| The Third Joyful Mystery – The Birth of Jesus
Virtue: Poverty We ask to be healed of our fear of poverty and the poor. Joseph had it been left to you things would have been different. How you must have worried for Mary and Her child as the time came near. But none of this was your choosing He wanted to be born this way. Please teach us O Holy Man how to find dignity even in being poor. Help us to find Christ in poor places and in amidst of His little ones who have nothing. Teach us, St Joseph to have an open heart and an open hand. |
| The Fourth Joyful Mystery: The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple Virtue: Obedience Let us pray to be healed of the fear of aging and of death. Lord, when the old man Simeon saw You he knew his long wait was over and that he could now go in peace. Jesus, we thank You for letting us see You in your church especially in the Holy Eucharist. Take from us, Lord, all fear of death and help us to persevere in the end. |

| The Fifth Joyful Mystery- The finding of Jesus in the Temple
Virtue: Piety We pray to be healed of our sinful inclinations. Lord Jesus, without Your presence in our lives we too are lost. How many times have we lost ourselves deliberately and You search for us and brought us back to our father’s house? And we could do it all again Lord such is our sinfulness and weakness. Thank you for the sacrament of your mercy where we know we can find forgiveness and the healing of our souls. |

| Sorrowful, Glorious, Luminous |
| SORROWFUL |
| In the sorrowful mysteries the events of Christ’s passions are brought before us. In the 1st letter of Peter we read He himself bore our sins upon the cross so that free from sin we might live for righteousness. By His wounds we have been healed. |
| The First Sorrowful Mystery- The Agony in the Garden
Virtue: Contrition Let us now ask Jesus to heal the memory of our past hurts. There are times Lord when we feel we can take no more. When the loneliness and pain seem too much for us but we do not do what You did we run from the Father’s will and from Your cross. We aesthesis’ ourselves in ways which we are shamed even to remember. Jesus heal the memories of our past and the hearts of those we have hurt so deeply |
| The Second Sorrowful Mystery: The Scourging of Jesus at the Pillar Virtue: Purity We pray for the victims of other people’s sin. Lord Jesus we still see you wiped and beaten today. We see you in the frightened gaze of the abused child, in the timid body, the shattered emotions. We see you in the frail African child, in the divorced one, in the old who await the lonely death. And Jesus we see You in ourselves. Lord to whom can we bring all this pain too if not to You heal me and cleanse me in Your precious Blood. |
| The Third Sorrowful Mystery- Jesus is crowned with Thorns
Virtue: Courage Let us call to mind the healing power of self examination. Lord Jesus we have crowned You with thorns many times through our sinful pride, our arrogance, our disobedience, the profanity of our tongues, our lustful eye, our lying thoughts, our reckless gossip, our neglect of the poor. Jesus our true and only King save us, forgive us, and heal us. |
| The Fourth Sorrowful Mystery: Jesus carries His Cross
Virtue: Patience Let us pray for the healing of grief. You watched Him, how could it be. Your beautiful Son, who everyone loved. He stops to look at you. His life flashes before your eyes, the child, the boy, the man. The fun you had that day in Cana when the wine ran out. Oh all you who pass by look and see if there is any sorrow like My sorrow. Oh grieving Mother Mary, comfort me in my grief. For I too have felt on my face the hot tears of the pain of loss. Lead me to the dawn of the Resurrection where every tear will be wiped away. |
| The Fifth Sorrowful Mystery- Jesus dies on the Cross
Virtue: Self Denial We remember that the Eucharist is the source of all healing. We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world. Jesus we thank You and by Your cross and Resurrection You have set us free. We know that there is no greater prayer of healing then the Holy Eucharist. Lord, heal us, through the bread of life and comfort us with the power of Your Holy Cross. |

| GLORIOUS |
| Coming to the Glorious Mysteries we contemplate the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus, the birth of the church at Pentacost, and the Lord’s glorification of Mary the Mother of Jesus In these mysteries are contained the hope of every broken life and every wounded spirit. |
| The First Glorious Mystery- The Resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
Virtue: Faith We pray for healing from hopelessness, and despair. Lord how often have we lived in the fear that nothing could ever change, but Your coming forth from the tomb has transformed everything. Now we know there is reason for hope and joy You are risen and so are we. Now, we know there is an end to darkness to pain to sickness and to anguish of spirit, to burdensome guilt and fearful memories. Now we know our sorrow will be turned into joy, because You Lord Jesus are risen from the dead. Alleluia. |
| The Second Glorious Mystery: Jesus ascends into heaven.
Virtue: Hope Our faith tells us that Jesus, our healer, is found in the sacraments. Lord in Your Ascension You took our poor human nature into heaven. Your human visible presence has now passed into the sacraments. Before You were seen with the human eye. Now You are seen with the eyes of faith. We see Your life in those born again of water and the Holy Spirit. We know Your mercy in repentance and reconciliation, the touch of Your hands in the anointing of the sick, we sense Your presence with parents and their children. In vessels of clay we meet You as shepherd and living head of Your body the church and always we recognize You in the breaking of bread. Lord Jesus what more could You have done to make Yourself present to us. |
| The Third Glorious Mystery: The Descent of the Holy Spirit
Virtue: Love We ask the Holy Spirit to do for us what we can not do for ourselves. Holy Spirit at Pentecost you came upon the apostles and transformed them completely. Look upon us, Holy Spirit and see how powerless we are over sin and suffering. Come to us Holy Spirit for without You we are dead Help us Holy Spirit to live fully the grace of our baptism. Heal the pain of our bodies, enlighten the darkness of our souls give new life to our spirit. Holy Spirit, help us to experience Jesus living within us as Our Savior and Our Lord. Come Holy Spirit |
| The Fourth Glorious Mystery: Mary is taken up into heaven, the Assumption. Virtue: Eternal Happiness The healing power of hope sometimes we fear this life might be all there is. We live a few years and then we die. Mary it is in Your glorious going into heaven that we find new hope in the Resurrection in Your human nature body and soul Your now in glory and You have taken with You all our fears our despair salvation our sin of pride about life’s meaning our denial of sin our refusal to be loved. Virgin Gentle and Mercy prepare our hearts to receive Your son in everyone for as long as we live and may we be with Him for all eternity. |
| The Fifth Glorious Mystery- The Coronation of Mary in heaven
Virtue: Devotion of Mary We ask for the wisdom to find healing in doing God’s will. Many are the frustrations of life the glittering career that turned to dust, the family that promised so much, the wealth that brought only misery, the poverty that made God into an enemy. Mary when You said Be it done unto me according to Your word You lived that word all Your life. Blessed Holy Mother teach me again and again how to do God’s will. Your life has taught me that with the Lord there is nothing such as an ordinary life. May it be that when at last the veil is lifted from my life I may like You receive a crown of glory. |
| LUMINOUS |
| The new Rosary of Light the Luminous Mysteries is a gift to the faithful from Pope John Paul II in Oct 2002 He describes the rosary as his favorite prayer In his incompretile letter on the Holy Rosary is writes “Today I willing entrust to the power of this prayer the cause of peace in the world, and the cause of the family He calls on every family to pray the rosary daily for these intentions. In the Luminous Mysteries we contemplate with Mary the public life of Jesus
We begin with His Baptism in the River Jordan, with the Father’s testimony to His beloved Son Then we move to that historic moment the wedding at Cana when at Mary’s request Jesus reveals himself to His disciples by turning water into wine. Following this first sire we reflect on the fullness of Jesus mission His Proclamation of the Kingdom and the call to conversion. With Peter, James and John we ponder the supreme mystery of light the transfiguration When Jesus allowed his godhead to shine forth In the fifth mystery we bow in adoration in the sacrament of his Pascal mystery. |
| The First Luminous Mystery- The Baptism of the Jesus in the River Jordan Virtue: Rebirth in Christ Our Lord Jesus Christ is baptized by John in the River Jordan the word Christ means the anointed one, Jesus is anointed by the heavenly Father, and the oil for this anointing is the Holy Spirit. We read in St Mark “and when he came up out of the water immediately he saw the heaven’s opening up and the Spirit descending on Him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven You are my beloved son with you I am well pleased.” Jesus is the beloved son of the Father He is the Messiah the anointed one. My loving Lord Jesus by Your immersion in the River Jordan You made holy the waters of Baptism in which our sins are washed clean. We have been born again, to new life and become the dwelling place of the Holy Trinity. Lord, let the promise You made to Your disciples be fulfilled in us. May we be baptized in the Holy Spirit every moment of our lives. |
| The Second Luminous Mystery – Jesus reveals himself at The Wedding at Cana Virtue: Rebirth in Christ Now Mary the Mother becomes Mary the disciple. She does not know what Jesus will do but She believes that He will do the most perfect thing. She teaches the disciples to open their hearts to faith. They look on and witness the miracle suddenly they realize that this grace of faith in Jesus has also changed the water of their poor lives into the new wine of His Kingdom. He who up to this has been their teacher they now see as their Lord. Blessed Holy Mother Mary, seat of wisdom, You’ll never cease to teach us about Your Son and yet their remains so much for us to learn. Help us through prayer to come more and more into the light of faith |
| The Third Luminous Mystery- Jesus proclaims the coming of the kingdom Virtue: Perserverance In St Mark’s gospel we read “Now after John was arrested Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel of God and saying the time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand repent and believe in the gospel. And in St John’s Gospel Jesus says of himself, I am the light of the world Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life. I have come as light into the world and whoever believes in Me may not remain in darkness. Lord Jesus, through our sin we sit in darkness and the shadow of death. So many who once walked in the light now walk in darkness. Jesus, give to us and too all our loved ones the grace to turn away from sin and turn back to You. And may all people everywhere come to hear the god news of Your kingdom. |
| The Fourth Luminous Mystery- Transfiguration
Virtue: Reverance And as He was praying the appearance of His face altered and His clothing became dazzling white. This is truly a mystery of Light. The glory of Jesus the Son of God, shines forth. The light of the godhead of Jesus is seen in the face of Christ when the Father proclaims to the astounded apostles. This is my Son my chosen one, listen to Him. Lord, we have never seen You transfigured like this but we have seen the transforming radiance of Your presence on the faces of others on the young mother with her afflicted child, on the man arriving home from work, on the old priest as he offers the bread and wine, on the young nun as she moves lovingly among the starving poor. Jesus those who listen to You are always transformed by Your word. Even in suffering You show us the joy of the Resurrection and a life transformed by the presence of the Holy Spirit. |
| The Fifth Glorious Mystery- The Institution of the Eucharist
Virtue: Devotion of the Blessed Sacrament The Eucharist is the source and the summit of the Churches life. The other sacraments and ministries of the Church lead to the Eucharist. Because the Eucharist is Christ himself it is the Pascal Mystery. The Lord’s Supper, the sacrifice of the cross, the Resurrection from the dead, and it is the real presence of the living and glorious Christ. Oh Loving Mother Mary when You gathered with the disciples for the breaking of the bread. You received from their hands Your risen Eucharist Son, You helped them to remember Him as they called to mind His words and teachings. His face always before You. Teach us to see Jesus in the Eucharist through Your eyes of faith and too love Him with Your Heart and may we find Him in every crushed grain of humanity from which His body is maimed. |
